We’re throwing a CZF post-fest pizza party! We’re looking for a few new faces to organize the next Chicago Zine Fest, so here’s your chance to learn how to become more involved with CZF 2015! Ever thought about organizing the zine fest? Not sure what organizing is all about? Come hang with us & find out!
We’ll be stuffing our bellies with pizza from Dimo’s, so please RSVP so we know how many to order. Don’t forget to mention if you’re into vegan pizza or dairy pizza! This is also a BYOZ event — bring copies of your zine to trade with other Chicago zinesters! Don’t write a zine? That’s okay too! We still want to see you there!
And hey! We know that getting involved with new things can often be intimidating & hard. But this is going to be a super chill, mega fun time, & maybe you’ll come out of it wanting to get on board with helping organize CZF 2015 (if not, that’s okay too!). So see you there? This event is at CHIPRC (Chicago Publisher’s Resource Center) — 858 N. Ashland Ave – on Monday, May 5th at 6:30pm. Join the Facebook event here!
One of our stellar sponsors is once again throwing the party of the year! 826CHI presents Prom 9 From Outer Space: A Galactic Romp Through the Retro-Futuristic Cosmos. Attendees will forgo ill-fitting rental tuxes and bustling taffeta for all manner of tin-foiled, corsetted, ray-gunned getups sure to impress the creature on their arm. Come dressed in your intergalactic best (or second-hand formal wear) for a night of cosplay, silent auctioning, raffling, (free) drinking, and DANCING…for the children. When: Saturday, April 26, 8pm-midnight. Where: St. Vincent de Paul Center Gymnasium (2145 N Halsted St). Tickets: $55 for one, $100 for two, $60 at the door (all proceeds from Prom 9 benefit 826CHI’s creative writing programs, which are offered tuition-free to thousands of Chicago students each year!) Get your tickets here!
The CZF organizers would like to say THANK YOU all of the coordinators, volunteers, exhibitors, attendees, panel members, readers, sponsors, & donors for helping make CZF 2014 the best ever. We appreciate you & your support! You have our eternal love!
Now that CZF is over, we’d love to hear your opinion about the zine fest. You can give us your thoughts on our anonymous post-fest survey, or you can email us at email@example.com. Your feedback will help us make next year’s zine fest even better!
