Chicago Comics Symposium Thursday

The Chicago Comics Symposium will be comprised of four separate panel discussions with multiple artists on each and will be moderated by some of Chicago’s greatest thinkers, critics and (of course) readers of comics. The questions posed to the Windy City makers will address many issues including: the tasks of self-publication, the changing cultural status of comics and the difficulty of representing identity. -from the CCS website: http://chicagocomicssymposium.tumblr.com

The Chicago Comics Symposium is not part of the zine fest, but we felt it was important to mention, as it is close to us in several ways. It is happening the Thursday and Friday of the zine fest. The scope of its interests overlap with ours. The organizers are friends of the fest, and have helped put the fest together. We feel the two events compliment each other quite well.
